EMI Scrapbooking

Hope you are all having a good week so far. Mine has been extremely busy, but good. I just want to let you know that I have some A Muse classes scheduled at EMI Scrapbooking in March. Check out my schedule over on the right. If you are in the area, a trip here is a must. I have to walk in with blinders so I don't buy ALL the fabulous paper she has. And soon she'll have A Muse stamps, so run check her out. Oh the best part is Susan, the owner, is SO friendly and helpful. It's just such a fun place to hang out with friends.

Music challenge...

for the extemly music challenged gal.  Trust me only the under 6ish crowd could ever appreciate my wonderful singing abilities. I love listening to music, but I never know the name of the song or artist. I just like what I like.

Jennie thinks of all the challenges on the A Muse Lounge. You must go check them out! Well this month is to make a card based on music. I spent an hour the other day looking at all my stamps and trying to think of anything I could make for this challenge....but NOTHING. Except for singing Love Shack in my head(and sometimes out of my head)everytime I looked at the new love shack stamp. It was driving me crazy, so I just gave up.

Then today as I was driving to see a kiddo, I was flipping through radio stations when hear "I Melt" by Rascal Flatts. And it all came together in my head...it's a brilliant place in there. You know me, everything makes me think of food. So naturally, I thought of ice cream. Get it melt....I melt...ice cream melts. Ok so maybe this is only funny in my head because I have been stressed with work and needed a laugh, but gosh I was crackin myself. Oh yeah you are here for a card not to here me ramble about nonsense.

 

Brilliant eh? Literally took my 5 minutes to make it. Don't you wish your ice cream melted diamonds?

Every cloud has a silver lining

 

I thought these new stamps would pair perfectly with the Trees 2 clear set. I had an idea for this card before I began, but I didn't quite get it right. I cut out the tree and popped it up to add some dimension to the card. I think I'll keep these stamps out and try to create more with them. Why can't cameras pick up all the glitter. I used my clear Spica around each cloud to give it the silver lining effect.

How could you resist a bunny driving a carrot? I am usually not a big fan of bunny stamps, but these are just so adorable~ I LOVE them! I have been trying to make an effort to use some different techniques on my cards. Spice 'em up some...ya know?

 

The sentiment made me think of gold, so my plan was to make a gold tag. But of course, I had nothing gold. So I decided to make a faux metal tag. I haven't used this technique in forever. After stampin it, I inked it with brown chalk ink to make the sentiment stand out more. Here is a close up.

I am so super excited about the A Muse Easter/Spring release. I am always amazed that the stamps just keep getting better with every release.

 

Oh wait! It gets better. Not only do we have new stamps, but new 4bar notecards!! Is it just me or do the colors just look so much cuter in 4bar?!?!

I can't wait to see what all the other A Muse gals created. Be sure to check out all their blogs for more eye candy. I'll be showing you my favorite stamp of the release later this weekend. Stay tuned.

Another card I made ages ago but haven't shared yet.

Do you feel like the year is already just flying by? I seem to always be taking life full steam ahead or in slow motion. Right now I have been full steam ahead in a million directions. I need to find a happy medium.
