In a small town just north of me lives 5,441 scarecrows. Hoschton just set the new world record for most scarecrows...read more about it here. You know I couldn't miss a chance to go check them out and get some pics. From the looks of most of the scarecrows, they were going for quantity and not quality. I think I need to make one if they do it again next year. They had the festival a few weeks ago, so maybe they took down some of the better ones already.
Since getting my camera earlier in the summer, I think I have taken over 3,000 pictures. Mostly of Europe and my nephew *wink*. Then I got Adobe Photoshop and the real fun began. I haven't learned any cool tricks with it yet, but soon I will find time to sit down and do that. Any pointers or ideas you have would be great. I'll have to find some tutorials. In the meantime, I wanted to share a picture from the Vatican.
Here is the image straight out of my camera. I thought it was a decent snapshot until I tinkered with it some.
I have always loved photography. It's one of those things that I always said when I have time or money to invest that I would get into more. Well before my Europe trip, my family got me an early birthday gift.
I just had a little point and shoot before this. I couldn't take that to Europe with Heather, now could I?!?! I was just amazed at the difference. I had an old film Nikon SLR, but it doesn't even compare to the digital. The sad thing is that I already want to upgrade. The cycle never ends. I got another birthday gift this week.
I am like a kid in the candy store with all my new toys! I have been studying the work of photographers trying find my style. Soon I'll show you some of my photos I have been working on. Yes of course they will be of either my nephew or Europe!
